Success Stories
A Florida based cruise operator with six ships on worldwide itineraries has been using MXP for the past 4 years and benefited in the following areas:
- Reduced organizational risk exposure. Through the elimination of most data entry on board, the Hotel Inventory Controller position was replaced by a Sanitation Officers position. Since then several ships scored 100 points at CDC VSP inspections.
- Because the MXP demand planning wizard made it easy for the office to forecast annual requirements for contract negotiations, the number of purchase contracts/agreements increased substantially. Since contracts/agreements tie into document automation rules, more contracts mean more automation.
- As the fleet grew, purchasing resources did not have to be increased because of the MXP automation, collaboration and e-commerce features. Currently 3 buyers handle all hotel purchasing for the entire fleet.
- Only one employee is required to process all invoices at the office. This was accomplished by performing the 3-way match and invoice scanning on board, and by uploading invoices to A/P through an automated interface.
- After the implementation of MXP, the average cost to process a purchase order was reduced by over 50% compared to the cost with the previous system (based on 6,500 purchase orders created from 2,700 requisitions and 2,200 quotes). This figure includes labor, transmission and interface costs. For ships running on more repetitive itineraries would lower the per document cost even further.
- With MXP, the average cost to process an invoice was reduced by over 85%. This figure includes labor, transmission and interface costs.
